random-ness
Sorry for the lack of posting lately. I will try to do better...no promises though:)
Anyway, these are pictures from last weekend. We started Saturday off with a "Back to School" BBQ and softball game with Western Seminary students vs. staff/faculty. Brandon was roped into playing for the faculty team (they blackmailed him with his next paycheck:) jk) So, he bravely joined the team with the average age of about 60. Suprisingly, they won! It was a great game to watch and I was able to talk with some of the staff wives on the bleachers. It was pretty funny watcing these men run into home and then ask where the oxygen tank was:) Here was the staff team:
We also were dog-sitting for the family that I nanny for. They have 2 of the sweetest dogs and are quite the pair. Buck is the old german shepherd. He is so sweet ,but a little out of it sometimes because of the epilepsy medicine he has to take:( He was obviously not too excipted about having his picture taken.
Then there's Cooper. He's a super-cute dauchsund (sp?) that has a slight ocd with the tennis ball. He literally will play until he drops if you don't stop him. He also has another habit that we weren't aware of...where did he go???
haha, yea, he slept under the covers with us. It was a little odd to wake up next to this...but how can you not love that sweet face:)
And here is another couple of pictures of Addy. I really have tried to take more, but she is just so darn fascinated with the camera that I can't get her to give you that "gummy" smile. She will be 5 months old on Sunday and is just so precious.

We have been watching the Dallas games and are so proud of our #1 offense in the NFL. GO COWBOYS!! Well, that's about it for now. Thanks for reading!!!

Merci, Emily!
Here are the pictures from last weekend. It was so great to see a familiar face and even better that it was Emily:) Emily (for those of you who don't know) is a dear friend from my early high school days. She was one of my first friends after moving to Colorado and I continue to be blessed by her friendship. We have been separated for so long because she decided to attend college in Seattle, but are now reunited (kinda) and both residing in the Northwest. She is super amazing and Brandon and I were rejuvenated by her visit.
We went to the Farmers' Market on Saturday in downtown Portland and picked out some yummy fresh ingredients to make a great meal that evening. Who knew that veggies could be so exciting?!

We also took her to see the remaining blooms at the Rose Garden. They are jumping for joy!
I love this picture because it totally encompasses Emily's excitement over the aromas filling the air:)Emily wore us out...
Those darn paparazzi followed us everywhere...

Oregonians??
We are finally 1/2 Oregonians! Not quite full Oregonians though, because we haven't gotten our driver's licenses yet. But, we do have Oregon plates! I wanted the Oregon Trail plates, but Callie insisted on not paying money for the license plate and she seemed to think the blue ones are "prettier." Anything is better than those green and white plates though! :)
So...in case you haven't noticed, football season has begun. College football started this past week and the NFL this upcoming week. And in case you didn't notice, WYOMING whooped up on Virginia! 23-3 with only 3 offensive 1st downs for Virginia. Go Pokes! And, I wouldn't doubt a good stomping on the Giants this upcoming weekend for Dallas.
I finally took my first class at Western. It was really exciting. It is called "History of Missions." It covers the 2000 years of Christian missions, and get this....no tests! That's the kind of class a history major knows and loves. I'm excited to finally get lectured at and get the chance to discuss. This pre-reading got me pumped up and now I finally get to express my enthusiasm. I know it sounds dorky (and I, like you, used to not like school) but school that includes studying the Bible and talking about Jesus just doesn't seem like school.
Things have been pretty uneventful other than that. We've just been enjoying visiting churches (2 per week) and hanging out. The weather has been incredibly beautiful, but we got our first taste of rain this past week. So I guess you could say, it's the calm before the storm. We're so excited for Emi to get here. I think Callie is getting sick of me..... :) We miss you guys, we miss playing hearts, we miss playing Ticket to Ride, we miss playing b-ball at TJ's, we miss our tennis partners, we miss our dinner friends. So, you just have to come visit us! (we'd come visit you but we have no money ;) this school thing is expensive) Take care....love you all!
Brandon
