strange

So today I was driving around, running a few errands and trying to find a radio station to listen to. I pressed the scan button to get a preview of what my choices were. It stopped on 87.7. I turned the volume up...I thought my ears were decieving me. No, it was true. I was listening to The Price is Right on the radio station. Does anyone else find that to be a little strange? Maybe it's a Northwest thing:)

Brandon's new school/job...

...that was our weekend. I suppose sometime we will run out of all the "tourist-y" things to do. After that I don't know what I'll blog about. I suppose then I'll have to really think and post something with substance. :)

International Rose Test Garden

So, I knew that every state has it's "motto", but I never knew that every city did as well. Yesterday Brandon and I discovered why Portland is nicknamed "The City of Roses". I'm sure it's because of all the rain and cloudy days that these flowers grow so well, but I might welcome a few rainy days to enjoy this beauty.

Stopping to smell the roses:)

Brandon is having so much fun...can't you tell?!

Laurelhurst Park

Here are a few pictures of my walk this morning in the Laurelhurst neighborhood park. The weather has been beautiful here this past week. I've heard it stays nice until October or November...then I have to face the rain:)

I also thought that we'd let y'all know....we have an apartment!!! God has truly provided for us above and beyond what we deserve. We needed to have the rental truck returned by Thursday evening the 26th. We will be able to move in to our new place Thursday morning and have time to spare! Thanks to everyone who was praying. God has answered all of our prayers:) Here is our new home. And you all have an open invitation to stay with us if ever in our neck of the woods.

Here We Are!

Well, here it is. This is for all the people who said, "You have to blog!". I'm not quite sure that we have anything remotely exciting for people to read about, but I figured I could at least post some pictures. Portland is a very beautiful place and we are excited to share some of our adventures with y'all.

This is actually only our 2nd full day in the Pacific Northwest. Unfortunately, we haven't taken any pictures yet, but we'll try and get some while we sight-see today! All we did yesterday was drive through the neighborhoods around Western Seminary and look for an apartment. We also were able to visit and stay with the family I will be nannying for. There names are Clark and Jackie and have the most adorable 3 month old little girl named Adeline. They are so sweet and have made our transition a little easier by giving us a place to stay for while and feeding us.

Today, Brandon is starting his new job as an Enrollment Counselor for the Seminary. God's provision for this job was just one of many miracles we saw while preparing to move here. Thank you to everyone who has been praying for us. We are so grateful and are excited to keep you updated on all God is doing for us.
